Mrs. Westie V. Baylous, 100, of Hickory Ridge Road, Salt Rock, W.Va., died Thursday, Nov. 17, 1983, in St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, W.Va., after a short illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Enon Baptist Church by the Rev. Herbert Courts and the Rev. Sam Morris. She was born Feb. 22, 1883, in Cabell Co., a daughter of the late Blackburn and Melinda (Linnie) Sanders Bias. She had been a member of the Enon Baptist Church since she was 17 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvanus R. Baylous, and one daughter, Jewell Baylous Burdette. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. R. C. (Goldie) Spears, Mrs. Charles (Eathel) Spears and Mrs. Edmond (Oma) Ferguson, all of Salt Rock, Mrs. Ronald (Norma) Crow of Taylor, Mich., and Mrs. John (Gwendolyn) Bobrofsky and Mrs. Eugene (Ruby) Battista, both of McKees Rocks, Pa.; one son, Wetzel Baylous of Salt Rock, 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, W.Va. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services.
