Obituary

MARK RICHARD SMITH, 77, of Milton, husband of Mildred Black Smith, died Monday in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Huntington. He was a self-employed contractor and formerly employed with Houdaille Industries. Also surviving are one son, Jimmy Smith of Milton; four brothers, Carter Smith and Gary Smith, both of Milton, Roy Smith of Proctorville, Ohio, and Don Smith of Lucama, N.C.; and four sisters, Alma Chapman, Vivian Peyton and Velma Auffant, all of Milton, and Mary Hurt of Punta Gorda, Fla. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heck Funeral Home, Milton; burial in Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Milton. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
