RICHARD C. "DICK" BIAS

RICHARD C. "DICK" BIAS, 80, of Milton died at home Saturday, April 19, 2003, after a brief illness. He was born March 27, 1923, a son of the late Basil and Ora Winifred Brown Bias. He was a former mayor of Milton and founding member of the Milton Volunteer Fire Department, of which he was fire chief for many years and had 50 years of service. He also was an EMT as well as the owner/operator of several service stations in the Milton area. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Milton Baptist Church, the Milton American Legion and VFW, and also a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his wife, Flora Belle Bias; two sons, Brent Bias of Ona and Scott Bias of Lesage; three granddaughters; four step-granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. His body is being donated for medical research at his and his wife's request. There will be a memorial service at the Milton Volunteer Fire Department at 7 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2003. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and the Cabell Wayne Association of the Blind. Friends may call at his residence. Arrangements by Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
