ALVALEE COOK

ALVALEE COOK, 100, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away in Arbors of Gallipolis on Saturday, January 1, 2005. She was a retired clerk from the Amherstdale Post Office in West Virginia. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Gallipolis and the St. Albans, W.Va., Order of the Eastern Star #79. Mrs. Cook was born April 19, 1904, in Ona, W.Va., daughter of the late Henry M. and Gertrude Morrison McDonie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Torrence Cook in 1964, and by a son, Phillip T. Cook. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Johnson of Gallipolis; four grandchildren and their spouses, Todd and Sheri Johnson of Gallipolis, Jane and John Miller of Tokyo, Japan, Ann Johnson of Columbus and Lee and Randy Campbell of Beckley, W.Va.; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday from McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 1st Ave., Gallipolis, with the Rev. Robert Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Milton Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
