BESSIE MARIE HECK

Loving mother, grandmother, sister, BESSIE MARIE HECK, 96, of Milton, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2008, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Allen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. She was born August 8, 1911, in Milton, a daughter of the late Lev and Minnie Flora Perry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hal O. Heck; her sisters Vida Perry, Polly Snider and Ernestine Murphy; her brothers Lyle and Lambert Perry. She was an active member of Milton Baptist Church, where she was BYF leader, in the missionary circle, and sang in the choir. She and Hal were the former owners of Heck Funeral Home in Milton and Barboursville. She was the owner of Heck's Clothing Store. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Janet Heck of Milton; sister Helen Smith of Milton; granddaughters Joan Spillman and her husband Richard of Wichita, Kan., and Jill Heck of Great Mills, Md.; three great-grandchildren, Catherine Dew Spillman, Margaret Spillman and Allen Spillman; and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. The family requests donations be made to Hospice of Huntington.
