From Rt. 60 in Ona, turn north on Howells Mill Road and go 8 miles. Turn left onto Union Ridge Road and go 4 miles to the junction of Union Ridge Rd. and Bryan Creek. The solitary tombstone is located on the left side about 10 feet off the road. There are several stories as to the death of D. B. Scott and why he is buried at this location, some which say he is buried in the spot he died. More on these stories can be found in the Cabell County Cemetery Inscriptions by Carrie Eldridge.
