Morris Fought With George Rogers Clark

John Morris came from Kanawha near the mouth of Campbell's
Creek and served in George Rogers Clark's Illinois Expedition.

He was Captain of Kanawha Militia and served with Virginia
Troops in the whiskey Rebellion in Pennsylvania. Morris died
in 1818 and is buried in the Guyandotte Cemetery Revolutiobary
War Service Plot.

He was the father of Bishop Thomas A. Morris and of
Edmund Morris, first clerk of Cabell County.
