Obituary

Donald L. Langdon, 82 of Proctorville, OH went to be with his Lord on Sunday August 23, 2009 at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, KY. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM at Open Door Baptist Church, 1900 Madison Avenue, Huntington with Rev. Jerry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park.  He was born August 26, 1926 a son of the late Carl and Fannie Burgess Langdon. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Langdon, a sister, Ernestine Adkins and two brothers Kenneth and Norman Langdon. He was retired from Forkis Electronic in Dallas, TX. and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. He was a World War II Army Veteran. Don is survived by his loving wife, Joan Hughes Langdon; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Liles of Ft. Mill, SC and Carla McDonie Bennett of  Coal Grove, OH; two sons, Denver Langdon of Wayne, WV and Donald L. Langdon, II of Chesapeake, OH; six grandchildren; a special granddaughter, Savannah Gabryelle Bennett; six great grandchildren, a sister, Eloise Rone of Detroit, MI; two brothers, Earl Langdon of Missouri and Paul Langdon of Detroit, MI; several nieces, nephews and special friends including, Chris and Leona Sarver. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Beard Mortuary.
