Mrs. Julia A. Dillon, Estimable Old Lady, Died Last Night After Long Illness
Mrs. Julia A. Dillon, aged 81, died at an early hour last night at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Marvin Crook, at 1325 Sixteenth Street, after an illness of
considerable duration.
Mrs. Dillon was born in Ohio but came to West Virginia at the age of seven
years, and resided near the present site of Huntington and in Huntington during
all the remaining years of her life.
In early life she was married to W. J. Dillon, who died several years ago. She
was a member of an old English family, the head of which came to this part of
the country a short time prior to her birth.
She was widely known in Cabell County and in Lawrence County, Ohio, and was a
lady of excellent worth and Christian character.
Her surviving relatives are Mrs. Marvin Crook, a daughter, and Mr. George P.
Dillon, a step-son.
The funeral will occur today at the Toppings Cemetery, a few miles south of the
city, her husband and other relatives being buried there.
