Jessie Hendrick Stewart died on August 14, 1978 in Huntington, Cabell County. On Tuesday, August 15, 1978 the following obituary was published in the Huntington Herald- Dispatch, page 12. 

“MRS. JESSIE L. STEWART, 63, of 5393 Ohio River Road, Huntington, died Monday, Aug. 14, 1978, in a Huntington hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beard Mortuary by the Rev. Roby Fraley. Burial will be in the Herrenkohl Cemetery, Lesage. She was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Allie Cown Hendricks. She was a member of Cox’s Landing United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death on June 12, 1974 by her husband, Lloyd A. Stewart. Survivors include one daughter, Sonja Cremeans of Barboursville; one son, Ronald L. Stewart of Parkersburg; four sisters, Mrs. Opal Herrenkohl of Lesage, Mrs. Bessie Carney of Huntington, Mrs. Clarice Barlow of Lesage and Mrs. Evelyn Beisbrey of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one brother, Forrest Hendricks of Hurricane, and one grandson, Ronald Bryan Cremeans of Barboursville. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.”
