EMZY RANDALL CHAPMAN

EMZY RANDALL CHAPMAN, 91, of Milton, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in Huntington Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Paul Meadows and Pastor Carl Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 139, Milton. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. He was born May 6, 1918, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late Elba and Osie Markin Chapman. He was also preceded in death by his son, Randell Eugene Chapman; brothers Everett G. and Glenn Chapman, and two infant brothers; sisters Eva Clagg and Alta Dodson; son-in-law, David Scarberry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a surgical tech. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 139, Milton. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Hatfield Chapman; daughter Marilyn K. Scarberry of Ona, W.Va.; sisters Clarice Chapman of Barboursville, W.Va., Muriel Furkey of Milton, Doris Moore of Cuba, Ala., and Joyce Thomas of Ona; four grandchildren, Dwayne, Daphne, and Kevin Scarberry and Angela McCallister; four great-grandchildren, Dalton and Kasey McCallister and Haley and Levi David Scarberry; daughter-in-law Bonnie Chapman. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at Heck Funeral Home.
