CLARA LEE NICHOLAS COURTS

CLARA LEE NICHOLAS COURTS, 84, of Milton went home to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in Sunbridge of Putnam, Hurricane. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Union Baptist Church, Milton, with the Rev. Winiford Curry and the Rev. Tracy Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. Clara was born Dec. 19, 1918, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late James Edward and Eliza McCallister Nicholas. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Hurshel J. Courts; five sisters, Eva M. Reynolds, Alma Dickey, Ruby Hutchinson, Lorraine Murrell and Freda Spurlock; and one brother, Willie Nicholas. She was a very talented cook and candy maker. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Dotty Courts of Milton; one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and John Danford of Milton; one sister, Esther Honaker of Milton; one brother, Hallie Nicholas of Milton; six grandchildren, Matthew Courts, Anita Robinson, Michelle Linville, Greg Danford, John Danford and Brianne Holcomb; four great-grandchildren, Natasha Robinson, Tabitha Linville, Allison Robinson and Andrew Linville.
