ROBERT DUTY, 79, of Milton went home to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Sam Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. He was born Sept. 25, 1924, at Yates Crossing in Milton, a son of the late Esau and Myrtie Smith Duty. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Richardson, Virgie Morris and Ethel Lucas and three brothers, Albert, Marcus and Cephas Duty. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and retired from Connor Steel and the City of Lake Worth, Fla. He is survived by his wife of 56 1/2 years, Ruth Gue Duty; one sister, Catherine Ross of Salt Rock; a host of nieces and nephews; one special nephew, E.J. Duty; and a good friend, Mary Weaver.
