JAMES H. MEADOWS

JAMES H. MEADOWS, 89, of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Minister Alan Cole. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery. He was born April 16, 1921 in Boone County, W.Va., a son of the late Lewis Howard and Mary Ball Meadows. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Dessie Weatherholt Meadows. He was a retired machinist from ACF Industries. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Violet Hatfield Meadows; one son, Richard Dwight Meadows; and one granddaughter, Samantha Fetty. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ed Steen of Barboursville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Diane Meadows and Howard Meadows and Carol Arkell, all of Ona, W.Va.; three brothers, Kelsey of Ona, John of Barboursville, and Omer of New Mexico; two sisters, Buford Blackburn of Ona, and Charlene Labus of Barboursville; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, and after noon at the funeral home.

 

VIOLET FRANCES MEADOWS

VIOLET FRANCES MEADOWS, 79, of Barboursville suddenly passed away Saturday, August 24, 2002, at home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2002, at the Barboursville Church of Christ by Minister George Topping and Minister David Gladwell; burial will be in Milton Cemetery. She was born September 19, 1922, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late James Albert and Chloe Clagg Hatfield. She was a member of the Barboursville Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, James Howard Meadows; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ed Steen of Barboursville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Diane Meadows of Ona, W.Va., Howard Meadows and Carol Arkell of Barboursville and Richard Meadows and his special friend, Steve Walker, both of Columbus, Ohio; four sisters, Lessie Moses, Essie Clagg, Myrtle Chapman and Bessie Holley, all of Milton, W.Va.; one brother, Harold Lloyd Hatfield of Milton; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a special friend, Dorothy. Friends may call today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, and Tuesday after 12 p.m. at the church.
