David Divita, 59, of Winfield, West Virginia (born and raised in Boomer, WV) passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Ross Heart Hospital at OSU. David loved nature and outdoor fishing, hunting and camping. His love for the outdoors was only surpassed but his love for his family and friends. He had the ability to recognize the beauty in the simple things in life and nature. David was a true man who left his mark on everyone that met him. He was not a man motivated by money, power or status, yet he was respected just the same. He was a leader, a teacher, a patient motivator, and most of all a fighter. He was truly an angel on earth. He will always be loved and missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Divita; son, Jason (Amy) Divita; step-children, Andrea (Whitney) Polites, Andrew, Katie, and Mary Ford; grandchildren, Kylan Ford, Riley Polites, Ande Divita, Ford Polites; father, John Divita; sister, Lisa (Lanley) Cabell; brother, Vincent Divita; his cousin, Michael Gatens (Carrie) and beloved nieces and nephews and many friends. David was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Divita; brothers, John Divita, Jr. and Ray Divita. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Memorial visitation will be held from 1-3pm and Mass at 3pm at Blessed Sacrament Church, South Charleston.
