William McKinley Sowards Thompson, 41 of Huntington, W.Va. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 3, 2017. He was born March 26, 1976 in Huntington, W.Va. the son of the late, Rachel Louise Sowards. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by two grandchildren. He enjoyed working his lawn care business and helping people. He also enjoyed playing Santa to numerous children every Christmas. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Sonja Thompson of Huntington, W.Va; his brother, Robert Sowards (Melissa) of Huntington, W.Va; three-step-children, Christopher Beckelheimer of Ona, W.Va; Chucky Beckelheimer (Amanda) of Huntington, W.Va. and Misty Simpkins (Bobby) of Lavalette, W.Va. and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. The family will receive friends two hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
