Swann Detail List

Latitude: N 38° 20.956
Longitude: W 082° 13.084
Elevation: 639 feet
Accuracy: 25 feet

From Barboursville, WV  take McComas Rd. toward Roach.   After you cross the second railroad tracks go 02. mile to the last house on your Left (Red Brick).  The cemetery is up on the hill behind the house and is in a field.   It is very overgrown and some of the markers are laying on the ground.  At one time it had a fence around it but not much left of it now.

The following list was compiled by actual reading of the tombstones. All the information, excluding annotation, is written on the tombstone.

Just some Notes:

Also, possible burials are Benjamin Franklin Swann (1793 - Jul. 2, 1870)
and Elizabeth (Jarrett) Swann (b.1797 - d.1861-69)
They are both living in Mason Co. in the 1860 census. The 1870
Cabell Co census lists Benjamin was a widower living with his
brother Hezekiah. But when he died July 2, 1870, his death was
reported by brother Josiah. Ben and Elizabeth are buried in either the
Leven Swann Cemetery at Ousley's Gap or the Hezekiah Swann
Family Cemetery at Roach.

Ballard & Isaiah had another brother Henley Chilton Swann (1831-1900).
He & his family lived up Cavill Creek, on the hill around Roach Auto Parts.
The location of where his family is buried is not known. It may be at the
Hezekiah cemetery, or one of the Morrison cemeteries around Roach
(he married a Morrison), or possibly the Fry cemetery (where the old rocks
& stones have all been removed).
