UNKNOWN GRAVE

One grave located on the Dial Farm on Ousley Gap Rd. Grave is the little hump to the left of the small gate in photo. There is an old barn across the driveway from the grave. Story related by local residents is that this unknown man was working tobacco in the barn with Jasper Mays (1880-1959) and his son Paul "Buster" (1912-1981). This was probably during the 1930's. It is said the man fell in the barn and broke his neck and that the Mays' just carried him out from the barn and buried him. The man might have been a "hobo" as a lot of them rode up and down the railroad, located nearby, during the Depression Era.

Directions: from McComas Rd. turn right onto Ousley Gap Road. Go app. 1 mile and you will see a rock sign for "Dial Farm" on the left. Grave can be seen 2/10 mile down the driveway. Stop at house on left and ask before going down to the grave.
