Jeffrey, Vivian L. - Date of Death: Tuesday, 6/14/2005
Mr. VIVIAN L. JEFFREY, 85, of Barboursville died June 14, 2005, in St.
Mary's Medical Center.
He was born May 31, 1920, in Cabell County, a son of the late Millard F.
and Eula Dillon Jeffrey. He was a retired foreman for CSX with 40 years of
service.
He was a first troop committeeman for Boy Scout Troop #63 at Dillon Chapel
United Methodist Church, a founder and charter member of Hilltop Sportsman Club
of Melissa and past president of Railway Clerks Union.
He was a member of Dillon Chapel United Methodist Church and one of seven
brothers who served in World War II. He was also preceded in death by his wife,
Joan Adkins Jeffrey, in 1981, and brothers, Charles, Ray,
Roy, Leo and Paul Jeffrey. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law,
Ronnie and Pat Jeffrey of Barboursville; three grandchildren, Kelly Jeffrey and
Angela and Steve Osburn, all of Huntington, and Craig Jeffrey of Athens, Ga.;
great-grandchildren, Shawn and Seth Jeffrey and Brookelynn and Logan Osburn, all
of Huntington, and Ethan Jeffrey of Athens, Ga.; sister, Evelyn Eden of
Barboursville; and brothers, Stacy, Jack and Tom Jeffrey, all of Barboursville.
Funeral 1 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005, at Henson Mortuary with the Rev.
Michael Rowe and the Rev. Tommy Jeffrey officiating;
burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation from 6
to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at the funeral home.
