Leslie Allen Ray
(July 15, 1947 - August 1, 2009)

Leslie Allen Ray, 62, of Wilmington, NC, left to be with the Lord Saturday, August 1, 2009.

Allen was born July 15, 1947 in Huntington, WV, son of Carolyn Maynard Ray and the late Otho A. Ray, Jr. His sister, Nancy Ray Lipscomb, preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served from July 1966 through May 1970 and was attached to the 4535 Combat Crew Training Squad and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion Post 10 and had served with many community organizations during his career, such as, the Rotary Club, the Optimist Club, and several others. He was a graduate of West Virginia State College with a major in Accounting. He held several positions with the Kroger Co. for over 20 years, Farm Fresh Corp. in Virginia Beach, VA and was, at his passing, a member of the Harris Teeter Company for the past three years.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Leslie Ann Bondarek (Adam); son, Christopher Allen Ray; grandsons, Connor Worthington and Cole Bondarek; granddaughter, Claire Bondarek; brother, Michael K. Ray (Tucker); and four nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Andrews Market Street Chapel.

A funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at Andrews Market Street Chapel with Rev. David Lord officiating. Interment will be 11:00 AM Friday August 7, 2009 in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, WV.
