MORRIS MEMORIAL FARM

Track gardens at Morris Memorial Hospital produce a wide variety of
vegetables.  Surpluses are canned and stored for winter use.

Soy beans are planted for winter feed for the dairy herd.
The crop will also enrich the soil and provide necessary
minerals for the next planting.

Other crops produced on the 60 acres of the 200 acre farm were potatoes, beans,
peas, corn, cabbage, beets, carrots and other foods.  Feed crops are also grown
for the dairy herd.  85 acres are used for live stock pasturage.  25 acres are
planted in producing apples, pear and cherry trees.  Small fruits such as
strawberries and raspberries are also cultivated.
