On Saturday, January 13, 1940 the following obituary was published in the Huntington Herald-Dispatch, page 3.
“W. H. BEECH- Sixty-nine years old, 1752 Seventh avenue, who died Friday morning at his home of a stroke suffered six weeks ago, will be buried in Oaklawn cemetery following funeral services tomorrow at 2:30 P.M. at the First United Brethren Church. The Rev. Harry Miller, pastor, will officiate. The body will be at the church for the hour before services. Mr. Beech, a concrete contractor here for a number of years, was a native of Lincoln county, the son of Sarah McCormack Beech and Samuel Beech. He was married in 1896 to Miss Delia Cowan, who survives him. Mr. Beech was a member of Reece Camp 66, Woodmen of the World. He is survived in addition to his widow, by a grandson, Carl Shaw, and a sister Mrs. James Reice of Cincinnati.”
