RECE SERVED AS WAGONER IN REVOLUTION

Allen Rece was born in Bucks County, Pa., October 7, 1759.  He enlisted in the American Revolutionary War
for three months service as a wagoner under Captain Groves, Colonel Proctor, State of Pennsylvania.  Then he
enlisted in 1777 for one month service as a private under Captain Singer, Colonel Irwin, State of Pennsylvania.

He enlisted in 1779 for service months as a wagoner under Captain Ferguson, Colonel Hooper, State of
Pennsylvania.  He then enlisted in 1780 for three weeks as a private under Captain Thomas, Colonel Robinson,
State of Pennsylvania.  He then enlisted in 1781 or 1782 for one month as a private under Captain Thomas,
Colonel Robinson, State of Pennsylvania.

After the war, Private Rece purchased and settled on the old James Dundas farm about two miles north of
Blue Sulphur near Ona.  He died November 29, 1837.
