Dorcas Moncer
(February 5, 1921 - July 2, 2015)



DORCAS H. MONCER, 94, of Huntington, widow of Frank Moncer was called to heaven to learn to sing in the heavenly choir on Thursday July 2, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with Pastor Steve Hinkle officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn memorial Gardens, Huntington. The family will receive friends after 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Moncer was born on February 5, 1921 in Huntington, a daughter of the late William H. and Minnie E. Randant Harshbarger. She worked at Appalachian Power Company for 35 years and was a member of Baptist Temple Church in Huntington. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Sadie Harshbarger, Helen Hayse and Nettie Stubblefield; three brothers, Shannon and Garland Harshbarger and Ernest Swann. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-paw, Nancy Lindsey Toole and Oliver Toole of Gainesville, GA; sister Mary Louise Saxton of Huntington; and oodles of nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She loved bowling and was the past president of the American Baptist Women’s Mission.
