Clarence Omer Polley
(December 8, 1939 - March 5, 2015)



CLARENCE OMER "BUDDY" POLLEY JR., 75, of Huntington, departed this life on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. He was born on December 8, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence Polley and Willa Mae Collier Morris. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his twin sister Carol Anne Polley. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, LaVerna Lemon Polley and his sisters Ramona Capron and Billie Sue Graybeal. He leaves to mourn his passing four nephews, Robert H. Dillon and Michael A. Woodard of Huntington, Patrick J. (Melody) Woodard of Ona, W.Va., and Scott E. (Nafi) Woodard of Scott Depot, W.Va. Also surviving are his step-daughter Teresa Clark; step-son Dwayne (Sherry) Baumgardner; four grandchildren, Aprill Clark, Arianna Baumgardner, Michael and Matthew Baumgardner and their mother, Rayetta Stevens.; great-niece Angela Dillon; great-nephews Patrick J. Woodard II and Douglas Miles Woodard; special friends Jimmy and Barbara Blankenship and Brady P. and Linda Woodard. Mr. Polley lived most of his life in Huntington and graduated from Huntington East High School. Shortly after graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served his country in active duty for 14 years with two tours of duty in Vietnam and additional eight years in the Army Reserve. He also lived in Kissimmee, Fla., for 17 years and retired after 15 years of employment at Walt Disney World. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Amos Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at the Culloden Cemetery in Culloden, W.Va. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the mortuary.
