Dolores Ann (Lovejoy) Cain
(January 6, 1935 - August 15, 2018)



Dolores Ann Lovejoy Cain, 83, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Wednesday morning, August 15th, 2018. Born on January 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Donald W. and Wanda Faye Lovejoy. Her only brother, Gary Gene Lovejoy, also preceded her in death. Dolores was born and raised in Hamlin, WV, where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class at Hamlin High School. Also while attending Hamlin High School, she earned the honors of head majorette and Miss Bobcat. After graduating, Dolores relocated to Huntington to start work at International Nickle (now Special Metals). It was during this time she met and married her husband of 58 years, James M. Cain, II. “Grampers” preceded Dolores from this earthly domain in 2013. Dolores and Jim had two children, Kimberly Ann and James M. Cain, III. Dolores went on to become a business school instructor, then was employed by the City of Huntington for over 25 years as a computer operator, where she retired in 1997. Dolores is also survived by her special sister-in-law, Janette Lovejoy. Over the years they have been true sisters. Dolores is also survived by her children, Kimberly Cain Meadows (Michael) and James M. Cain, III (Cindy). “Gran” is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicki Keith (Derek), Kristi Caserta (Brandon), Sean Lynch (Sherelyn), Tristan Apel (Alex) and James M. Cain, IV. Also surviving Dolores are her great grandchildren, Lila Keith, Josslyn Campbell, Kaelyn and Karly Caserta and Eli, Jude and Vera Lynch. Aunt Dolores is also survived by her niece and nephew, Lana Rice (Travis) and Gary Lovejoy (Diane) and their families. Dolores has touched the lives of all her family and friends, and her spirit lives on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Beard Mortuary, Saturday, August 18th, at 2:00 p.m, with Rev. Leo Skaggs and Rev. Jerry Warren, officiating. The family will receive friends after 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park.
