Dorothy Marie "Dottie" Edwards
(January 10, 1959 - June 29, 2018)



Dorothy Marie Edwards, 59, of Huntington, passed away on June 29, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Born on January 10, 1959 in Huntington, she was a daughter of Burl “Jack” Edwards and the late Kathleen Terrell Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dorothy Terrell and William Terrell, Sr. She is survived by her best friends, Lori Bartley of Huntington and Wendell Mays of Barboursville; sister, Elizabeth (Michael) Mayes of Huntington; nieces and nephew, Michael Jr., Elizabeth, Isabella, Winifred, Sophia and Theodora Mayes, all of Huntington; uncle, William (Carolyn) Terrell of South Point, OH; aunt, Elizabeth Graybeal of Huntington; and a host of cousins and friends. Dottie was a graduate of Huntington East High School, class of 1977, where she played basketball, softball and clarinet for the band. She went on to attend West Virginia Tech where she studied civil engineering and played basketball and softball for the Golden Bears. Dottie received an Associate’s degree in accounting from Huntington Junior College and worked for State Electric for over 20 years. She was a proud breeder of Shih Tzu dogs and proud parent of her two dogs Sissy and JoJo and several cats. Dottie loved camping, fishing, being outdoors and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. She was a practical joker who loved animals, her job, and especially her coworkers. A  Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Grace Christian Fellowship church, 530 Roby Road in Huntington, with Rev. Tim Dixon, officiating.
