Kathryn Elane (McElhaney) Combs
(January 11, 1932 - January 27, 2020)



Kathryn Elaine McElhaney Clark Combs, 88, went to be with her Lord and join the Love of her life, Johnny Combs, on Monday, January 27, 2020. She was born January 11, 1932 in Weston, WV to the late Daniel Ernest McElhaney and Mary Phyllis Jeffries McElhaney Cosner. She had one older brother, William McElhaney (deceased) a sister-in-law Wilda McElhaney of Pa. and she has a younger sister, Ernestine McElhaney (Alex) Brooks of Weston, WV.  She is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Lyman A Clark, Jr. and her husband, Johnny Combs, step-father, Archie Cosner, and son-in-law Jim Pillichody.  Kathryn was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by 3 daughters, Marcelle Clark (Dave) Jones, of Pinnacle, NC; Connie Clark (Robert) Lucas, of Cross Lanes, WV;  Marianna Clark Pillichody of Milton, WV and one son Lyman A. (Bobbi Mayo) Clark of Lewisville, NC. One step son William Combs, of Texas.  16 grandchildren who lovingly called her  "Mamaw Kate"  David (Yadira) Haynes, Kelli Jo (Cynthia Lewis) Haynes, Kathryn Haynes (Brandon) Long, Daniel Jones; Benjamin (Jodie) Lucas, Chris (Andrea) Lucas, Margaret Lucas (Mike) Dusch, Carolyn Lucas, Elizabeth Lucas, Stephen Lucas, Tess Lucas (Nathaniel) Smalley; Tricia Dent (Alan) Clark, Amber Dent Fetty, James Pillichody; Kerri Ann Clark, Jared Clark. And 20 great grandchildren including a special great grandson Michael Dent.  Lots of nieces and nephews. Her lifelong friend, Norma Jean Clark. Close special friends at Willow Tree Apartments  in Hurricane, WV.  Kathryn was a bookkeeper for Big Sandy Superstores and worked for Southern States. She loved to cook. Everyone looked forward to her wonderful dishes and great desserts.
