Frances (Rowan) Keenan
(November 15, 1924 - October 20, 2021)



Edna Frances Keenan of Huntington, WV passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House Wednesday, October 20, 2021.   She was three weeks and five days from celebrating her 97th Birthday. We are so blessed to have had her as a major part of our lives for so long.

She was born November 15, 1924, in Gap Mills, WV the daughter of the late Edwin Caperton and Fannie Marian Vaughan Rowan.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert Keenan, a sister, Virginia Pyle and brothers, William and Edwin Rowan, nephews Michael Keenan, Richard Keenan, Jack D. Booten, Jr., great nephews, Jack D. Booten 111, Robert (Robby) Booten, and great niece Jennifer Booten.

Frances was Lab Tech for St. Mary's Hospital where she loved her work and kept at it until she retired at age 80.  She was a longtime member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the office until last month.  She was also a former volunteer for Emogene Dolin Hospice House.

Frances is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Mary Jane and Allan Olson of Chanhassen, MN, a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Marlene Keenan of Memphis, TN, grandchildren Charles Keenan, Jr. and wife Ari, General Keenan, Savannah Keenan-Graf, Tom Graf, and great grand-daughter Riley Graf, all of Memphis.

She also had a large presence in raising and creating wonderful memories with many very special nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and nieces, and was working on her great-great grand babies.    Family was everything and she made all her friends and ours part of her family as well.

A Celebration of Life Reception will be held Monday, November 1, 2010, from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at Community of Grace United Methodist Church.  A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm Woodmere Memorial Park.
