Hilda Faye Zimmerman

Hilda Faye Zimmerman, of Huntington, WV, went to her final rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, 19 days short of her 89th. birthday. She was born August 31, 1920 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late William Ezra and Justine G. Smith Hatten. Her husband, Otis A. Zimmerman and a great grandson, Elijah Graham DeVoid, also preceded her in death. Hilda was retired from the former B & B Food Market and was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Rebecca Zimmerman of Huntington; three grandchildren, Dr. William Britt Zimmerman and his wife, Lisa of St. Clair Shores, MI, Elizabeth Anne Zimmerman DeVoid and her husband, Stephen of High Point, NC, and Laura B. Zimmerman of Laguna Beach, CA; three great grandchildren, Miles Jeremy DeVoid, Ava Analiese Zimmerman and Mary Claire Zimmerman; a sister and brother-in-law, Julia Hatten Miller and Capt. William Curtis Miller of Virginia Beach, VA; a special friend, William Pitts of South Point, OH; and family friends, Margaret Cremeans and Melvin Miller. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th. Ave., Huntington, WV 25701 or the prayer shawl ministry at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, 2600 Washington Blvd., Huntington, WV 25705. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Keith Leap and Rev. Suzanne Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
