Lilla Mae Nelson
(February 21, 1928 - August 6, 2011)



Lilla Mae Nelson, 83, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday, August 6, 2011, in Cornerstone Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary in Huntington with Dr. Gregg Terry officiating. Entombment will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Lilla was born February 21, 1928 in Cabell County, WV a daughter of the late Virgil and Thelma Mae Baylous Nelson. She was a member of the Beverly Hills United Methodist Church. Lilla worked for 47 years in Chevrolet dealerships in the Huntington area before retiring as Business Manager from Dutch Miller Chevrolet. Survivors include her dear son and daughter-in-law; Charles W. & Debi Chaney of Chillicothe , OH;, her beloved and faithful brother, Virgil Nelson of Huntington; and grandchildren, Bryce Chaney and wife Erin of Durham, NC, Jordan Chaney and wife Kelly of Grove City, PA and Whitney Chaney Cooper and husband Brady of Durham, NC. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Lisa Pennington, Grace McMasters, Edie and Mike Estep, Vicky Black, Jada Keesee, and Lucille Barnett for their love and support. A special note of thanks to those who cared for Lilla at Cabell Huntington Hospital and Cornerstone. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 7669, Atlanta, GA 30357-0669. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary after 1:00 PM until service time on Wednesday.
