Barbara Susan Lowry
(May 12, 1941 - May 5, 2016)

Barbara Susan Lowry, 74, of Hueytown, AL passed away peacefully at her home May 5, 2016. She was born May 12, 1941 in Huntington, WV. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Black and Eliza Jane Mills. Barbara was a homemaker most of her life and attended Apostolic Center Church in Lesage, WV. She leaves behind to mourn her loss; her loving husband, Allen Dennis Lowry; sons, Barry E. Porter (Carla) of Hueytown, AL and Thomas W. Porter (Susan) of San Antonio, TX; sister, Jackie Black and brother Billy Black, both of Athens, TN. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Alec, Emily, Katlin, Devyn and Zoe Porter; four sisters in-law, Mary Collins, Sylvia Miller, Pam Cremeans and Kathy Adkins; one brother in-law, Billy Lowry, a host of nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Carla Porter. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00, Monday, May 9, 2016 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Stickler officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park.
