Patty Marlene Riley
(December 23, 1933 - December 2, 2018)



Patty Marlene Riley, 84 of Huntington passed away December 2, 2018 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.  She was born December 23, 1933 in Lewis County, WV; a daughter of the late George H. Smith and Virginia Louise King Smith.  Patty graduated from Jane Lew High School in 1951 and later received her degree as an LPN.  She had worked at Mildred Mitchell Bateman Hospital for several years and had later retired from the Barboursville Veterans Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Riley; one daughter, Valerie Scarberry; two grandchildren, Lucas & Lloyd Scarberry; two step-children; one sister and two brothers. Patty is survived by three daughters: Delores Pyle of Huntington, Ida L Montgomery (James) and Melanie R. Ellis (Rod), both of Gilmer, TX; one son; Neil J. Metzgar (Amy) of Huntington; two  step-children; Leslie K Riley (Rhonda) and Michael T. Riley, both of Clarksburg, WV; four sisters: Judy Herron of Clarksburg, WV,  Tuana Metzgar (James) and Jennifer McVay (Stanley), both of Weston, WV; Bessie Wright of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; two brothers, George Smith (Charlene) and Scott Smith (Geraldine), both of Cuyahoga, Falls, OH; a special friend, Bea Stiltner of Wayne; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 15th at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Burke Officiating. Her cremains will be interred at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Memorial Service at the Funeral Home
