Obituary

Christine Qualls
(September 07, 1934 - December 23, 2019)



Christine Tubbs Qualls, 85, of Huntington.  On December 23, 2019 God Choose to call home our Queen, Christine to join all our elders who have gone before her and reunite with our father and her children at the right hand of our Lord.  She was born on September 7, 1934 in Logan WV to Parents Carter and Mattie Tubbs.  She is proceeded in death by her husband, Darrell and two of her children, Jan and Lydia.  Christine was united in Holy Matrimony to Lawrence Darrell Qualls, a union planned from Heaven from this union five kids were born; Tonia Kay Page (James), Karen Bonita Lawton, Jan Randolph Qualls, Lydia Marie Roach (Ferris) and Darrell Zachary Qualls (Renee).  Christine had several jobs but found the job she loved in 1974 as a maid in Holderby Hall at Marshall University, where she was able to interact with young women and through that interaction mentor as she worked. She retired from that job after 25 years of service.  Christine leaves family with many memories to cherish.  She is survived by three of her children, Tonia Kay, Bonita and Zack; one brother, Anthony Tubbs and several grandchildren: Taron, Jamie, Carlus, Mia, Harold, Ebony, Justin, Nakia, Latrice, Cristina and LaShawna (Shea); several great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and the wonderful community we grew up with in Huntington.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Shawn Woods, officiating.  Family will welcome friends at 12 Noon.  Repast will follow at the church.  Burial will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, December 30, 2019 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
