Yvonne Bittean Hayes
(July 11, 1951 - December 24, 2020)


Yvonne Bittean Myers Hayes

            Born July 11th, 1951 in Huntington, WV to her loving parents, Major Monroe, and Joan Bittean (Jones) Myers. Yvonne transitioned on Christmas eve 2020, at Emogene Dolin Hospice House in Huntington, WV at the age of Sixty-Nine years, Five months & Thirteen days.

            In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Edward Hayes Sr, as well as her siblings; Kevin Myers, Samuel F. Lightner Jr, and granddaughter Jalina Bills Lightner. Yvonne graduated from Huntington High School and attended Marshall University. She also attended Full Gospel Assembly Church, under Bishop Samuel Moore.

            Among those that remain her legacy are her children: Shawn Myers of Huntington, WV; Sharma (Reggie) Smith of Atlanta, GA; Thomas Hayes Jr of Huntington, WV; and Dannetta Hayes of Charleston, WV., brothers: Major, Dana (Karen) and Vincent Myers, sisters: Rochell Myers, Petra (Ichite) and Keva Myers. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren: Shawn Myers II, Kierstan Myers, Mykal Myers, Kianna Myers, Bellah Myers, Heaven Myers, Shawnice Myers, D’atra Figg, Kwanis Hayes, Celina Hayes, Felicia Hayes, Kira Hayes, Tehj Hayes, Amaleya Hayes, Akiah Hayes, Demetrius Hayes, Kenyai Hayes, Shemar Hayes and Antawn Hayes. She loved all her children and grand children which they all had a special place in her heart.

            Yvonne was a career housewife with outstanding cooking skills, and a stylish dresser. She eventually went to work and was employed with the Huntington WV, Housing Authority and Woodland Retirement Community.

            She also leaves to mourn a host of family and friends who loved her dearly. “You may now rest my angel.” The family at this time would like to thank each and everyone for your prayers, calls, texts, and support during this difficult time.

            A private Home-Going service will be conducted at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home with Bishop Samuel Moore officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington, WV is assisting the family.
