Obituary

James “Jimmy” Runyon Jr.

James “Jimmy” Runyon Jr.
Of Delbarton, WV, entered his heavenly home December 6, 2021 at the age of Seventy years, Eleven months and Thirty days. He was born in Dans Branch, WV to the late Jim & Lorraine (Trout) Runyon. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby (Betty) Runyon and Larry (Carolyn) Runyon, and one brother-in-law: William (Billy) Smoak.
Jimmy, also better known as “Nine” made a huge impact in so many of our lives. He was kind, patient, and a friend to all. He dedicated his life to his family and business, James Runyon Trucking. He loved driving truck, racing, attending church, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. His family was the center of his world. Jimmy is notoriously known for always making weekends, summers, and holidays special. He gave so generously with everything in him including his time and love. He was a highly esteemed board member of Gospel House Church, Taylorville, WV. Jimmy always had a smile on his face, whether it out of joy or mischief. He was a pleasure to be around. There’s no doubt, he left us all with many memories to hold on to here in our earthly home.
Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 30 years, Janice Kay Runyon; son: Jim (Marlene) Hundley of Lenore, WV, and daughter: Renee (Greg) Baisden of Delbarton, WV; one sister, Joyce Gail Smoak of Lugoff, SC;  two brothers, Clinton Runyon of Castle Hayne, NC and Chester Runyon of French Creek, WV;  grandchildren, Jessica Hundley, Jamie (Dale) Osborne, Andrew Hundley, Shane (Jerrica) Baisden, Austin Baisden, Tristan & Tucker Vance; great grandchildren, Isabella Canterbury, Sierra & Sienna Baisden & Elliot Osborne; those he loved as his own, Brian (Jerri) Bowens, John (Courtney) Vance, Ronald Matney II, Tyler (Tiara) Matney; special friends, Willard Blair, Doug Howard, Kenny Roberts & a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends who loved him very much.
A Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Little Dove United Baptist Church, Belo, WV with Pastor Haskel Runyon Jr., Pastor Ron Matney & Pastor Roger Ooten officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M, Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Little Dove United Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Maynard officiating.
