Obituary

JESSIE H. SMITH EPLING, 86 of Hurricane passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Larry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery, Milton. Jessie was born July 10, 1919, in Putnam County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Robert and Odie Jacobs Fletcher. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Smith. Jessie attended Sousanah Freewill Baptist Church and was the founder of Smiths Market on Mason Road. She is survived by her husband, Arnold E. Epling; two daughters, Mary Alice Hudnall and husband Paul, Loretta Hysell and Darrell Hysell; two sons, Junior Smith and wife Pam, Bob Smith and wife Linda; one stepdaughter, Loretta Martin and husband Wayne; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2005, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
