Obituary

Edith Matilda Holley, 87, of Ona, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 in Morris Memorial Nursing Home.  Funeral service will be conducted 11 AM Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Dr. Stan Maynard and Rev. David Ashworth officiating.  Burial will follow in Pete Meadows Cemetery.  She was born January 21, 1919 in Mason Co., WV a daughter of the late Albert and Rena Smith Taylor.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Holley; five brothers, David, Junior, Dexter, John, and Orville Lee; two sisters whom were twins, Ada and Hada.  Edith was a charter member of Church In the Valley and the Bykota Sunday School Class.  She was a homemaker with a great love for her family and friends.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Harvey of Barboursville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ivan and Diane Holley of Grantown, WV and Paul E. Holley, Sr. of Ona; one sister, Elizabeth Wray of Fraziers Bottom, WV; seven grandchildren, Jay Holley, John Holley, Teresa McNeeley, Sherri Bramer, Tom McNeely, Paul Holley II, and Angela Holley; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.  The family extends a special thanks to the caregivers at Morris Memorial Nursing Home and Hospice of Huntington for all their love and compassion.
