Obituary

Michael J. Marks, 55, of Milton passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Hospice House of Huntington due to colon cancer.  Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 22, 2007 at The Church In the Valley with Dr. Stan Maynard officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.  He was born February 18, 1952 in Elyria, OH, a son of Geraldine R. Marks of Gassaway, WV and the late Ralph J. Marks.  He was a graduate of Gilmer County High School and West Virginia University with a degree in soil science/agronomy.  He was employed by the USDA, NRCS for 33 years, the last 27 as District Conservation for Cabell and Wayne Counties.  He was a member of Church in the Valley where he served as deacon and sound technician.  He is survived by his wife, Shelia J. Marks; son, Matthew J. Marks of Milton; three brothers, Steven B. and Kathy Marks of Clearwater, VA, Timothy and Debbie Marks of Glenville, WV, and Daniel and Melinda Marks of Augusta, WV; three sisters, Jo Ann and Mike Hill of Normantown, WV, Marina L. and Roger Stewart of Rosedale, WV, and Regina D. and Todd Stewart of Augusta, WV.  Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, on Friday, September 21, 2007 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Hospice House of Huntington, P.O.
