Obituary

Violet Lorene Holley, 81, of Glenwood, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington.  Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.  Burial will follow in Lafe Meadows Cemetery, Glenwood.  She was born September 12, 1927 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Frank and Julia Burks.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Homer Holley; son, Homer Eugene Holley; three brothers, Charles, Howard and Eddie Burks; three sisters, Nannie Napier, Genevie Booth, and Kathleen Tiller.  She was a homemaker and a member of Palestine Baptist Church, Ashton.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Fred Fisher of Milton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James Ray Holley and William Earl and Karen Kay Holley all of Glenwood; daughter-in-law, Marietta Holley of Glenwood; two sisters, Betty Manis of Huntington and Helen Smith of Barboursville; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O.
