Eleanor M. Davis
1913 - 2008



ELANOR M. DAVIS, 95 of Barboursville.

God blessed the family of Eleanor Davis for 95 years. She left her earthly life August 14, 2008 and now she is bringing joy to her angel friends.

Eleanor was born February 25, 1913 to the late James and Florida McDonald of Peach Creek, WV. She had one brother, the late Jonas S. McDonald of Earling and two sisters, the late Anna H. McDonald and the late Naomi Corn of Peach Creek. She was a retired RN having worked as Logan County Health Nurse and for Logan General Hospital and Man Appalachian Regional Hospital. An infant son, Byron Scott Davis and her wonderful husband, E. M. Mack Davis predeceased her.

Eleanor was a lifelong member of Peach Creek Methodist church.

She has made her home in Guyan Estates for the past 35 years and has brought much joy to her family. She is survived by her children Mr. and Mrs. Emerson M. Davis, Jr. (Jean) of Huntington, Mrs. Mike McClung (Jeanne Ann) of Barboursville, and Mr. and Mrs. James L. Davis (Paula) of Elijay, Ga. Other survivors include: Grandchildren Mr. and Mrs. Emerson (Tra) Davis, III (Betty), Mr. and Mrs. Bradley S. Davis (Tara) Mr. and Mrs. Lou Davis (Denyell), Mrs. Wesley Bird (Anita), Mark Davis (Lisa) and Mrs. Jeremy Marshall (Kelly) and great grandchildren Emily Davis, Will Marshall, Haley, Marie and Lillian Davis, Julianne Byrd and Skylah Davis. Also surviving are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Barman (Katrina) and their children, Cody, Peyton and Ethan. She is also survived by a number of Nephews and Nieces and their families whom she loved as her own.

Her family wishes to thank special neighbors Richard and Beth Thompson, Texas Giorgia, Mike and Nancy Gallaher for their friendship and care, Dr. Kevin Yingling, Dr. Larry Dial and nurse Laura Talbert for their love and care and for those special people, who sent cards, brought baskets and kept her in their prayers.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Monday followed by the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at Pea Ridge Baptist Church and graveside rites at Woodmere Cemetery in Huntington. The Rev. Roger Adams will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions to your church may be made in her memory.
