TRESSA A. BIRD
(June 26, 1915 - December 8, 2008)

TRESSA A. BIRD, aka T-Bird, 93, of Huntington, W.Va., graduated into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 8, 2008. She was the widow of T. Henry Bird, who passed away in 1973. She and Henry had a ministry called the "Boosters" in the Highlawn area of Huntington, in which many young people came to know Christ. Their desire was to impact not only Huntington, but the world with the Gospel and touchable lives. Her heart was given to the knowledge of the Word and local and foreign missions. Tressa was born in Alexandria, Ind., on June 26, 1915, the daughter of the late Hervey and Bertha Barnhardt Brown. She retired from the Federal Probation System, serving as a secretary. She was an active member of the former Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church and Eastwood Baptist Church, until her health no longer permitted. She is survived by a host of church family, missionaries and many who came to Christ in the "Boosters". A celebration of her life will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at HENSON MORTUARY, BARBOURSVILLE, W.VA., with Pastor Brady K. Lipscomb officiating. Burial will follow in white Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. There will be a short visitation from noon until service time. Tressa's request is that in lieu of flowers, any donations be given to Missions at Eastwood Baptist Church. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Charles Turner, Dr. Greg Carrico, their staff and the gracious staff at Chateau Grove for their tender care. Henson Mortuary Barboursville is handling arrangements.
