Raymond Lee Plybon
1932 - 2008



 RAYMOND LEE RAY PLYBON, 75 of Huntington, WV passed peacefully away on September 10, 2008 at home with his family present. He was born October 3, 1932 in Barboursville, WV to Herman & Mabel Plybon who preceded him in death. Ray was also preceded in death by an infant son, Terry and a brother Ronald Plybon.

He retired from the National Weather Service at Tri-State Airport after 40 years of service. At the time of his death he was employed as a door greeter at Wal-Mart Store #: 2244 on Route 60 East, where he had worked for the past 13 years. Ray was a 1950 graduate of Barboursville High School, and served 4 years in the Air Force during the / Korean War. He was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Huntington Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He also coached the Martha White Little League baseball team from League 1. They didn't win many games, but all of his boys got to play every game. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 93 of Kenova. who will have Graveside Rites.

He is survived by the love of his life, his beautiful wife, Lois Jean Adkins Plybon to whom he had been married for 52 years, one son Michael Ray Plybon and wife Debbie of Argillite Ky. A daughter Tina Michelle Castle and husband Ken of Huntington, and a very special "unofficial adopted daughter" Tonya L. Kazee also of Huntington whom he loved very much.

Four grandchildren, Kenneth R. "Kacey" Castle and Michael A. Castle of Huntington, Stacy R. Castle and fiancé Mark McGlone of Ashland, Ky. Justin M. Bays of Argillite, Ky. Four great-grandchildren, Kayden Castle, Alex Castle, Autumn and Lilliana McGlone. One brother, C. Richard Plybon and his lovely wife Barbara of Ona., and his very special sister Ruth Ann "Brat" Lambert and husband Larry of Proctorville, also a dear sister-in-law Joy Plybon of Tennessee and many special nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held where friends may call on Friday, September 12, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Henson's Mortuary, Barboursville, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at the mortuary on Saturday, September 13,2008 at 1 :00 p.m. by the Rev. Ken Toller. Burial services will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville.
