VERNON LEROY CREMEANS
(July 30, 1922 - November 3, 2012)



Vernon Leroy “Jiggs” Cremeans, 90 of Huntington, WV, passed away on Saturday, November 03, 2012 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born July 30, 1922 in Huntington, WV the son of the late, Albert and Cena (Elkins) Cremeans. He was also preceded in death by his wife, in 1995, Kitty (Harshbarger) Cremeans. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, WV with Pastor Cecil Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Huntington, WV with Military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post #139 Milton, WV. He was a self employed owner of Cremeans Refrigeration, a WWII. Veteran of the U.S. Army as a Master Sargent and was retired from the U.S. Army Reserves. He was also a member of the Thomas Memorial Freewill Baptist Church, Guyandotte; member of VFW #9738 Guyandotte, American Legion #177 Barboursville and member of the Improved Order of Red Men Mohawk Tribe #11 Huntington. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Levinia Blower. He is survived by one daughter, Verdonna (Rick) Childers of Ona, WV; one son, Earl Cremeans of Huntington, WV; one sister, Arlene and (Vandel) Noble of Ona, WV; four brothers and their wives, Claude Ray (Phyllis) Cremeans of Wheelersburg, OH, Jacklee (Marjorie) Cremeans of Huntington, WV, Donald E. (Ruby) Cremeans of Toledo, OH and Mick (Joyce) Cremeans of Huntington, WV; six grandchildren, Matthew Childers of Oakland, CA, Nicholas Childers of Huntington, WV, Adam Childers of Ona, WV, Justin Goodrich of Huntington, WV, Somer McMillin of Huntington, WV and April Cremeans of Huntington, WV; twelve great-grandchildren; special friends, Betty Carter and Mike McComas and many other friends and relatives. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
