Obituary

PAUL ADAM BOCK
(August 5, 1932 - April 18, 2014)



Paul Adam Bock, 81, of Milton, WV, loving and loved husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at Midland Meadows Senior Living, Ona, WV. He was born August 5, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Paul and Rose Anna Kalsch Bock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Marie Bock and two grandchildren, Mikaela and Luke Bock. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, and worked for General Electric as a field service engineer. He also worked for several TV and radio stations as Chief Engineer and retired from the National Institute of Technology, Cross Lanes, WV, where he taught math and electronics. Paul was a faithful member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, classical music, skiing, fishing, hiking, stamp and coin collecting, bird watching, photography, genealogy, and computer science. He is survived by his loving wife, Natalie, four sons, Paul J. (Sue) Bock, Barboursville, WV, John (Maria) Bock, Huntington, WV, Daniel (Tammy) Bock, Scott Depot, WV, and Thomas (Amy) Bock, Knoxville, TN; one brother, Walter Bock, Tenafly, NJ, two sisters, Helen (Gustav) Stahl, New Hyde Park, NY, and Elizabeth (Louis) Wong, Chino Valley, AZ, one brother-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Baum, Lacey, WA; eight grandchildren, Genevieve Jenkins, Michael, Andrew, Alex, Jake, Cole, Elijah and Abby Bock, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 10 am on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 with Pastor Carl Ames officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, WV.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5700 Rt. 60 East, Huntington, WV 25705, or to Woman at the Well Ministries, P.O. Box 875, Milton, WV, 25541. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Midland Meadows for the excellent care Paul received.
