Patricia Lou Derbyshire, 86 years old, of East Pea Ridge, died peacefully on Thursday, April 19, 2018. A funeral will be held at Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge, Saturday, April 28 at 1pm with internment following at Woodmere Memorial Park. Visitation hours will be Friday, April 27 from 5-7pm at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, East Pea Ridge Rad. Barboursville, WV. “Patty” was born in “Ousley’s Gap”, Barboursville, West Virginia on March 26, 1932 to Robert Ambrose Swann and Mary Inez Hatfield Swann. She was the youngest of 12 children and is proceeded in death by all 11 siblings. She graduated from Barboursville High School. On July 20, 1956 she married Charles Edward Derbyshire II at Highlawn Presbyterian Church in Huntington. Her husband proceeded her in death after 37 years of marriage. She was a Life Member of the Presbyterian Church USA Women of the Church. She was head of the Bates Memorial Women of the Church, a Deacon and Elder and a longstanding member of the Bates Church choir as well as the Omega Circle. She loved music, bowling, golf (member of both Riviera and Knob Hill golf clubs), bridge and gardening. She worked many years in the office of the Memorial Field House where she became a necessary fixture.  To her many nieces and nephews she was much more than an aunt. Always ready with an open heart, she was a loving and guiding influence to all she met. She is survived by her two sons, Charles and Jonathan as well as her daughter-in-law Sarah and two grandsons Charles and James who will miss her dearly and are immensely proud of the life she led.
