James Norris Franklin

James Norris Franklin, 86, of Huntington, widower of Jean Franklin, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his home in The Woodlands Retirement Community. He was an avid photographer. Jim was retired from the CSX Corporation and was a former owner of Travel Incorporated. He was born February 13, 1927 in Lincoln County, a son of the late Verlin and Faye Messinger Franklin. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Jean Franklin, a son, James Norris Franklin II., a brother, Rev. Forest Franklin. He is survived by a daughter, Judy Harwell and husband Ray of Richmond, TX; two step-daughters, Diane Waybright and husband Ariel Rochin of Hull, GA and Elaine Waybright and her husband, Dr. Bo Ingvar Sanden of Colorado Springs, CO; 4 grandchildren and several great-grand children; three sisters, Peggy Saunders, Avoline Adkins and Linda Midkiff and her husband, Lanny all of Huntington. Jim was known for his generosity to the Woodlands Retirement Community and the family would like to thank them for their love, patience and kindness shown to him. Klingel Carpenter Mortuary is assisting the family. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 17 at 3:00P.M in the Grey Hampton Room at the Woodlands Retirement Center.
