Ann Conjura, M.D.
(March 25, 1958 - July 18, 2011)



ANN CONJURA M.D., passed away at her residence on Monday, July 18, 2011. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church by Monsignor Lawrence Luciana. Ann was born March 25, 1958, in Norfolk, Va., the daughter of John "Jack" and Louise Britton Conjura. Ann was a graduate of the University of Virginia, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and University of Maryland Medical System, where she completed her internal and Junior Assistant Resident in Internal Medicine. Ann was the Medical Director for Hospice of Huntington, and a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, West Virginia Board of Medicine and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care. She received the Zack Binkley Award for Community Service in 1999. She was a citizen member of the Editorial Board of The Herald-Dispatch; United Way of the River Cities, serving as a member of the Board of Directors and President; Huntington YMCA as a Board of Directors member and Physical Education Committee Chair; a member of the Junior League of Huntington and Huntington Museum of Art volunteer. In addition to her parents, Ann is survived by her husband, Rodger Blake, son and daughter Justin R. Blake and Brittany A. Blake of Huntington; one brother John Conjura of Maryland and sister Carol Conjura of Virginia; mother- and father-in-law Barbara and Neal Blake of Arlington, Va.; a sister and brother-in-law, Wendy Blake and Chris Kaczmarek; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Dianna Blake of Columbia, Md.; nieces and nephews Blake and Kate Conjura, Tyler and Chloe Kaczmarek and Lexie and Summer Blake. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
