Obituary

Edward Ray
(December 13, 1923 - June 8, 2015)



Edward Ray, 91, of Huntington, passed away Monday June 8, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm Thursday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Randall Robertson. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV. He was born December 13, 1923 in Shoals, WV, a son of the late William and Trinnie Irby Ray. He was a lifelong Iron Worker with Ironworkers Local 769 of Ashland, KY. Edward was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was also a past Master Mason with the Buena Vista Lodge #60 AF&AM of Whites Creek whose members will conduct graveside Masonic Rites. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sisters Ida Pelfrey, Lucetta Steele, Gladys Hutchinson, Gaynell Craddock and Beatrice Ward and his brothers Alpha Ray, Elmer Ray, Henry Ray, Charles Ray and Garnet Ray. Survivors include his wife Mildred Moore Ray; son and daughter in law David and Mary Ellen Ray; daughter and son in law Sandra and Jonathan Fowler; grandchildren Jacob Ray, Samuel Ray, Jeanette Mills, Katie Ellen Ray, Miranda Klingler, Melissa Higginbotham and Sarah Mullins and thirteen great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home.
