Obituary



Helen Louise Loftis, 80, of Huntington, passed away Thursday March 10, 2016 at Wyngate at Rivers Edge, Proctorville, Ohio. Memorial services will be conducted on Friday March 18, 2016 at Spring Valley Presbyterian Chruch, by Pastor Bonnie Boyce. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. She was born May 25, 2016 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Bert and Lakie Mae Wellman Ballengee. Helen was a Registered Nurse, serving on the staffs of both Cabell-Huntington and St. Mary's Hospital, as a plant nurse at AC&F Industries, and finally as a director of nursing at the Veteran's Home in Barboursville. She was a member of Spring Valley Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by twin brothers Don and Dale Ballengee and infant sister Mabel Ballengee. Survivors include two sons and daughters in law Paul and Debbie Martin of Huntington and Charlie and Pam Martin of Diana, Texas ; two grandchildren Don Martin of Chicago, Illinois and John Martin of Texas; step grandchildren Mark VanArsdale and Barclay Riggs; four step great grandchildren; brother Andy Ballengee; two sisters Clara Hamlin and JoAnn Drown and a host of nieces and nephews and a special cousin Audra Miller of Columbus, Ohio. Contributions may be made to Spring Valley Presbyterian Church, Hospice of Huntington or to Little Victories or any animal rescue operation. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Wyngate at Rivers Edge in Proctorville. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
